Temperature mapping of fridges and freezers

Need to show that your fridge or freezer is suitable for temperature-sensitive products? We perform practical mapping with calibrated data loggers and deliver a clear audit-ready report for GDP, GMP, HACCP or internal QA purposes.

What you receive

  • Mapping protocol with measurement points, duration and acceptance criteria.
  • Measurement with calibrated data loggers.
  • Analysis of warmest and coldest locations.
  • Assessment of excursions and the full temperature profile.
  • Advice for permanent monitoring sensor placement.
In brief

Temperature Mapping Europe supports temperature mapping from a QA perspective: you can measure yourself with calibrated data loggers, measure yourself with a complete mapping and qualification dossier, or outsource the full on-site execution. The aim is practical evidence for storage conditions, hot and cold spots and a defensible monitoring position.

Critical points

Fridge and freezer mapping calls for practical product positions

In small equipment, mapping is mainly about where products are actually stored, how often the door is opened and how stable the storage zones are.

Shelves and drawersMeasurement points follow the places where products or samples are actually stored.
Door influenceDoor compartments, the front and upper zones can differ clearly from the average temperature.
Cooling source or evaporatorDirect cold influence can cause cold spots, especially in small freezers or compact fridges.
Monitoring positionThe mapping helps determine where a fixed sensor makes sense and which zones are suitable.
Tools and 3D proposal

Start with a practical indication

Use the tool hub or create a 3D measurement-point proposal directly. It helps make room layout, product zones, doors and risks concrete before you choose a service level.

Output

What do you receive?

A practical assessment of the temperature distribution in a fridge, freezer or cold room, covering product locations, the door zone, evaporator, loading and any monitoring position.

Measurement setup

A suitable number of data loggers, distributed across relevant product locations and risk points.

Substantiation

Hot- and cold-spot analysis, graphs, conclusion and advice for routine monitoring.

When is it useful?

For new storage, requalification or doubts about temperature stability

A mapping study gives quick evidence of the temperature distribution inside your fridge or freezer. This is especially relevant for medicines, samples, reagents, medical products, food ingredients or any stock with defined storage limits.

New fridge or freezer

Before use, you want evidence that the storage remains within the agreed temperature limits.

before use

After repair or relocation

A change to equipment, location, door, probe or cooling system can affect the temperature distribution.

after change

Audit or internal review

A complete report shows that the storage has been assessed and that monitoring is placed at a justified location.

audit-ready

How does a fridge mapping work?

We place several data loggers at critical locations in the fridge or freezer: corners, centre positions, the door side, near the cooling source and the areas where products are actually stored.

The measurement usually runs for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the equipment and risk. Afterwards, we assess the temperature profile for each point. We focus on the warmest and coldest locations, spread, excursions and time outside specification, not only on averages.

What is included in the dossier?

A fridge or freezer mapping results in a complete mapping and qualification dossier:

  • Protocol with risk-based acceptance criteria and a measurement-point grid.
  • Overview of data logger locations.
  • Raw measurement data and graphs per point.
  • Minimum and maximum temperature per point.
  • Hot-spot, cold-spot and excursion analysis.
  • Calibration certificates for the data loggers used.
  • Conclusion and advice for the best permanent monitoring location.

Starting prices

LevelStarting price excl. VAT
Rent data loggers and carry out the measurement yourself€299 excl. VAT for 10 loggers
Mapping and qualification dossier based on your own measurement€599 excl. VAT + logger rental
Full on-site project, we do everythingfrom €999 excl. VAT + logger rental and travel expenses

Data logger rental starts at €299 excl. VAT for 10 loggers. Extra loggers are €20 excl. VAT each. The exact price depends on the number of measurement points, location, duration, travel distance and the complexity of the storage situation.
