How does a fridge mapping work?
We place several data loggers at critical locations in the fridge or freezer: corners, centre positions, the door side, near the cooling source and the areas where products are actually stored.
The measurement usually runs for 24 to 72 hours, depending on the equipment and risk. Afterwards, we assess the temperature profile for each point. We focus on the warmest and coldest locations, spread, excursions and time outside specification, not only on averages.
What is included in the dossier?
A fridge or freezer mapping results in a complete mapping and qualification dossier:
- Protocol with risk-based acceptance criteria and a measurement-point grid.
- Overview of data logger locations.
- Raw measurement data and graphs per point.
- Minimum and maximum temperature per point.
- Hot-spot, cold-spot and excursion analysis.
- Calibration certificates for the data loggers used.
- Conclusion and advice for the best permanent monitoring location.
